ABOUT LIKE PLANES

The duo of Michelle Luna and Trish Tunney have likened their songwriting process to "crashing into songs together". A joyful spontaneous process where neither has a plan or direction as they trade musical ideas. Trish writes the lyrics and Michelle creates the vocal melodies, and the rest unfolds as a surprise to both. At the end of this trust fall is a song that is usually partially finished but fun enough to play. So they add it to their setlist and allow it mature in public at its own pace.

They first met at the end of 2022 in a San Francisco bar. Michelle had just finished playing a solo set and overheard Trish was a drummer. She approached with: "I want to start a band". To which Trish responded "I want to start a band TOO!!". They exchanged numbers and have been making music together ever since. They had 8 shows in 2023.
